Thanks to several generous donor families from
USA, children from one Uzbek orphanage have
celebrated the arrival of the New 2007 year with
festivities, fruits, sweets and small presents
for everyone. Uzbekistan is a Muslim
country, so they don't celebrate Christmas.
Together with the presents, though, our
coordinator brought several Christmas cards from
the sponsoring families and explained the
meaning of the word to the kids, many of whom
heard it for the first time. Our big
thanks from everyone that helped!

We are extremely grateful for this holiday
celebration, but are also asking for your continuing
support. These children need to feel loved and
cared for not just during the holidays, but
throughout the year. They see very little
generosity from the locals as the country they live
in is struggling economically. These kids need
clothes, toys, school supplies, and if you don't
help them, nobody will.
