Needs and Sponsorship

In Uganda today, acute poverty, wars and diseases, poor access to better education facilities are depriving children of good health and better education. They are suffering without cause due to loss of one or both parents. Their luck of education means, they have little opportunity to learn skills, which could help them, find momentous and long-term employment. Tragically at a very early age many have given up hope for a better future thus ending up on streets and in waste bins.

Without help today, these children will never have the chances that can improve their lives. That is where you can help by becoming Lilly Orphanage Kindergarten (LOK) child sponsor today.

As a LOK child sponsor you can give a child, his or her family and the community a better start in life “……….for in you the orphan find compassion” (Hosea 14:3)

With you as a sponsor, a child can realize that potential.

Orphans are at the heart of all LOK’s work plan. Our plan and target is to have every child sponsored nation wide. Because, for every child sponsored, another ten people in that community benefit.

When we begin working with the orphans the first thing we do is to talk to them to find out their feelings, goals and needs in life. It could be access to better education facilities i.e. good school or medical care. We start work immediately but there are no simple solutions. Whatever help and practical support you and we do provide, it is long lasting and will benefit the child for the rest of his/her life.

Children such as these represent the future and we believe that sponsorship is the best way to help them. It is children who pass through the hands of LOK who will be able to pass on their knowledge and skills to the next generation.

A child can only develop in a thriving community that has skills and resources, which bring self-sufficiency and dignity. Our second ultimate goal is to promote better education for the orphan child

The charity undertakes the task of meeting her set objectives by soliciting and setting up income generating projects.  By so doing we are able to relatively meet the needs of these children and paying salaries plus any bills that come along including water, ground rent bills etc.

As well as showing you how your contribution are being spent, we keep you updated with the regular developments and achievements you have helped LOK attain, so you can see the difference you are making.
