adoption is exciting, rewarding, and...
inevitable expensive. It may cost less to
buy a house than to provide one for a child from
overseas.
Thousands of families each year save every
cent in hopes of raising enough to cover for
adoption-related expenses. Sometimes, it
is not enough.
We tried to collect at least basic
information on various financing sources
available to adoptive parents at different
stages of adoption. Next, we added a
simple way for families to post their family
profiles - stories, journals, assistance pleas -
with built-in online donation mechanism.
Lastly, we built a unique Adoption Marketplace
allowing parents to fundraise by selling
adoption-related items via the web without
expense or knowledge of e-commerce.
The next step in our project is to create an
Adoption Grant Fund sponsored by corporations,
philanthropical organizations and
individuals. A portion of our adoption
facilitation fees will also go towards this
fund. These grants are being designed to
help with initial adoption expenses and will be
payable directly to licensed agencies or social
workers performing homestudies.
